Sheldon Independent School District is a public school district covering over 53 square miles of Harris County, Texas, with the majority of the district falling within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston. Sheldon ISD prides itself in keeping its community constantly aware of its ongoing strategic plan to improve the well-being and educational opportunities of the 7,800+ students attending its 11 schools.

"Small District, Big Vision" is the motto of Sheldon ISD, and it is now leveraging Projectmates Construction Program Management Software to assist in its latest vision of the future. On May 7, 2016 Sheldon ISD voters approved the passing of a massive $285 million bond. The construction of a brand-new high school and elementary school, extensive renovations to current middle schools, and a district-wide energy management overhaul (lighting retro-fits, HVAC upgrades, etc.) are just several of the initiatives to be funded by this bond. Sheldon ISD will work in tandem with Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, Inc. (LAN), a highly experienced program management firm. LAN will act as the primary caretaker of the bond program and it was imperative that both parties had a reliable solution to coordinate the many projects to come.

Sheldon ISD will spearhead these projects with Projectmates as the primary platform of communication. With over 40 built-in tool modules that can collectively manage the full life cycle of a project, the school district will utilize their new software platform to manage its bond projects from capital planning all the way through construction and grand opening.
